Hi, my name is Tommy. I write short stories, expose myself through diary entries, and make little movies and video edits of my favorite media.This digital space is born out of resistance to how capitalism has taken the once social and creative interwebs into a marketplace attempting to wear the skin of the Internet we used to know and love. I've realized that as a child of the digital age, I've been entrapped in an intoxicating web of a cyber succubus since the small age of 10 years old. Now as an adult, I still spend sleepless nights spent in the clutches of short-form media benders, meant to make money off my viewing, as I hunt for the next big dopamine hit with every scroll.I don't necessesarily think its' my fault. They are Cocomelon-ing us all. This year I came across the indie web movement and felt a draw to truly address the way I've let the internet use me, rather than being the user myself. I'm not saying that I am never the user, but I think more and more, there are pockets of time I spend online that are out of dependence rather than intentional pleasure. Here's to following a new path, and hoping I don't fall off my computerized horse too hard when I stray from it.
